while i patiently save up to replcae this POS graphics card :bang head i decided it was time to update my mismatched jumble of randomly colored parts  into a sweet lookin case with a monitor keyboard and mouse etc. to match. Cant bring myself to watercool it. SOmething about putting water into my case next to an 800 dollar processor makes me feel oddly bad...........dunno why that could be????????? Anyway im an idiot and forgot to take pics of the case before i started but ill keep posting pics here of the progress. anyway fixin to try to post the first pics now. Case is gonna (i think) end up blue with some old school flames in silver and chrome illusion. Anyone have any experience with painting a keyboard btw?

That's looking great! Must have been a bit of pain to mask off everything and paint it two different colors. So you cut those things out on the panel on your own? Looks pretty smooth

My two bro in laws and sister were in the corps and my sister fractured her pelvis during her time as a cadet. I think she was in k2? Uhh I don't remember. They weren't in the band though. I don't plan on joining myself, seems like corps is too hard on girls, maybe not the band side but I don't play an instrument. I'll just enjoy yall at the football games!

tips for keyboard painting....

strip it down( duh!) spray it all seperate. get some polystyrene and a load of cotton buds. push the cotton buds into the back of the keys then into the polystyrene so that each key stands on its own wee stick, makes it much easier to spray. you can get printer paper from modelling shops to make your own transfers for the letters to go back onto your sprayed keys (remember the transfers from airfix models?) you print it on with plenty of ink, cut them out then soak them in water and apply to keys. then put a coat or two of laquer ontop.

good thing bout that is you can choose your own font.

if you want best result when you paint don't stop spryin until you are not on the surface to be painted anymore... do some long smooth strips because if you stop in mid-way, your paint won't be smooth and you'll have some drips and different shades... what i recommend the most is to do multiple fine layers until you have the concentration or color that you desire...and one more thing try to spray at atleast but no closer than an inch.

oh and also try to grind or scrap up the original paint of the case so you'll use it as a primer and your new paint will last longer...

i suggest 6inches away when spaying, if the paint it still color issues... gets some water nuke it and let the spaypaint sit in the ho****er bath for a bit then spay while the spaypaint is still warm (it creates a thinner paint) and spray that on from over 8 inches i know your thinking "8inches thats insane?!?!!" well with thin paint it will drip a little more, But it creates a more even coat. also think of a printer when spaying go back and forth.

yeah i usualy shoot from about six to 8inches(i paint watrhammer minis.........if youve ever painted something that small and detailed you learn real fast thin is good). I had a little oops with the dog while i was painting......needless to say i made a big mess........i put the comp in another case i had that was missing a side panel( just made one out of plexi) for the moment. hopefuly ill manage to get this one back on track and finished before i leave for FOW week and cant workon it anymore. Its not easy to work on it right now cause my mom i still in the hospital.............were haivng to go up there alot
