my friend recently installed a 5900xt (replacing a ti4400) and whenever he scrolls through menus (like while scrolling up or down in a webbrowser), he gets a buzzing sound in his speakers. any suggestions as to what is causing this, or how to fix it?

I also have this issue with my PNY FX5900U. Lots of scrolling does it. Selecting "auto-overclock" in coolbits makes it beep rapidly. Very strange. Also, testing manual overclocks I think does it. Furthermore, when it makes noise, my monitor dims a very slight bit.

...A little weird. Solutions, anyone?

When i first installed my 5900, it made some type of chirping/buzzing noise every time i would scroll up or down a webpage. Awhile ago i was told that it was normal and it was from the capacitors discharging energy to my video card.

Perhaps theres a grounding issue that causes the speakers to pick it up? But anyway, the noise is caused by the capacitors.

But my monitor gets darker when it happens. That worries me. Also, it has to be coming from the system speaker or motherboard beeper thing, if not directly from the card itself. I unplugged my speakers, soundcard, and system speaker. It still happened.

i have a 5900 ultra, and it also makes a "chirping noise" everytime i scroll up or down on a webpage. the noise comes directly from the card itself on my system. i also read somewhere that it comes from the capacitators. what i find strange is that it affects your monitor, it might be a grounding issue.
