View Full Version : PC keeps freezing please help :)
hi all i am a complete newbie to overclocking and i just overclocked my p4 1.7ghz to 2ghz and i set the core voltage to 1.8 and it booted up just fine and when i went into 3dmarks2k1 to benchmark i got through the 1st game and it froze on the second..does this mean i still have to raise my voltage even higher? i dont know how high i can go withought damageing somehting..now heat is not the issue as it is idles at 30C and loads at 37C.any help or comments are greatly appreciated!

yeah...
or it could be teh AGP bus speed is to high for teh video card... or the HD and or hd controller is way to out of spec for it to load without currupting something.
It sounds like you are almost there. Try more voltage little by little and watch your temps. Let us know if the extra voltage does the trick.
ok i got that problem fixed set the video card back to defaults :( but now whenever i overclock to 2ghz i cannot get on the internet with cable!it just doesnt find it, but as soon as i clock back down to 1700mhz it finds it and works pefectly!can anyone help me ehre i really want to keep that overclock but i wont unless i can get on the internet :(
Did ya check the PCI Bus Speeds?
Some cards just cant hande overclocking!

you should try posting this in intel mobo's,but it does sound like the pci bus is out of spec to far.
I have a computer that cannot handle 1 mhz higher fsb! without something not working properly! :eek:
