Researchers find the Gene for Acne using a Protein Folding program!

Sorry I have no link, I saw it on the news.

It said that scientists using a protein folding program (Not F@H) found the Gene that causes Acne. They hope to find out why people get it and how to stop it.

Acne is a form of some disease... (I forgot which one) If they can cure that, they they are one step closer to other diseases.

By the way, does anyone know what Folding Program they used? I heard of at least 4 others out there, but most of them are owned by corporations instead of schools.

acne is a disease? i thought it was just oil in your pores?

It is a mild form of some disease actually. Pores get clogged all the time even in adults. Everyone gets acne alittle because it's caused by bacteria that is common. However, serious Acne like you have seen on some of the "Pizza Faced" kids at school have a different form of it that is an offshoot of some disease. (If I had more time I'll look it up and link to it)

Many forms of common every day illnesses are usually a different starin of something much worse. Example: A "Canker Sore" that you get in your mouth is actually a different form of Herpes. Pretty disgusting huh? Some people get them worse than others and they move from just inside the mouth to around the lips without it being full blown Herpes. Serious Acne is the same thing.
