Last night I cut a 120mm blowhole in my case... I was very nervous as I'm brand new to case modding, but it turned out to be very easy. What I used was a dremel tool with a heavy duty cutting wheel on it. To measure the whole I simply used a cd, and went around the edges with masking tape to make a guide (as my case is black and I wouldn't have been able to see a marker as well) and to protect my case from any minor mess ups. The key was to work slowly with the dremel and only cut small pieces at a time. The only minor problem I had was when I was done, the metal had heated up so much the adhesive from the tap had melted onto my case and was difficult to get off. To clean up the hole a bit, I used a grinding bit on the dremel and cleaned up the edges a slightly. I know others have posted threads with full tutorials on this, but I just wanted to but my personal experince.... Hope it helps someone. I'll post pics later tonight.

Hole saws are the way to go if you ask me, but whatever gets the job done :D

My case is an Antec SOHO file server and it is a very difficult case to cut a 120mm hole in even with a 1 1/2 HP drill press. All in all I think that a hole saw is the way to go. Do be careful that you do not over heat the bit though.

I have had trouble with a hole saw. I find it heats the case up too much.

I have better luck with the dremel.

next time don't use tape, people say it will help if yout dremel slips.. its pretty much not true, if the bit cuts through metal its going through tape...

I should've used that logic before I got the gunk stuck to my case :/

I use masking tape mainly for writing on. Also, the tape does seem to make the accidental cut less deep than without tape (I double layer mine) although the cut will still be there with tape. :p

Did it drop you temps any?

Tons :D droped my case temps almost 10 C degrees! Both on Idle and Load. As for my CPU it droped it about 8 on Idle and 6 C on Load! I was very happy. Makes sense though as heat rises and just gets trapped at the top of the case... I would deffinatley recommend this to anyone...
