The only thing i've seen so far is Kingmax for $149 for 1 stick of 512 PC4000.

I can't get ANYTHING else...... Other then corsair and OCZ which retail for 500$+ for a gig kit which is rediculous......

i am not paying 500+ for ram......

Any suggestions?

Canada Computers says they have to wait for a shipment next week :(

and that takes time..... Is there anywhere else i can get cheapo PC4000?

Since you live in Toronto and you want kingmax and don't feel like waiting for it go to Spadina and College and walk College St. towards Bathhurst and you will find a lot of stores. There have to be at least 15 stores and some one should have some Kingmax for you.

Check these guys out. I saw some good deals. Are you going to buy 2*512 sticks? Your mb has dual channel ddr right? If you are you should try buying them in pairs, you might save a couple bucks.

CORSAIR
Platinum Edition
PC4000 512MB
DDR Ram 500MHz CL3.0
with Platinum Heat Spreader $179.98

for the $30, I would go corsair

do you need a gig? just a suggestion, but I would prefer to get a kickass pair of optimized 2*256 sticks vs 2 sticks of 512 value ram.

you like the kingmax flapperhead?, I've never really heard of them as a good ram manufacturer. I would like to know(I'm just a 1 star)

kimgmax uses the hynix d5.......

anyways i'll check out these sitesz.. I was looking for a dual channel 1 gig heh

Yeah whats the deal with newegg not delivering to Canada? We are right here can't be too difficult to ship it. They could just charge more for shipping whats the hassle.

It appears that Shika X ram uses Hynix B chips just like the high end OCZ PC4400EL Gold. Here is a memory test on that Shika X Ram. Looks like the people at AnandTech really liked them.

I looked at the prices

its $398 for the shika PC4000
or $422 for the Corsair XMS plat PC4000

What would u get???

If it came down to $24 between Corsair and some other brand, even though the review I read was good, I would have to go with the Corsair.

Or do what I did. Go to a few of the most popular computer stores and ask the inventory guy to see if they have Hynix chips on the GENERIC PC3200 modules. If not, ask them to order some. Since the D43's were designed by hynix to run at DDR400 speeds AND are the only IC's used by hynix on PC3200 modules, then you are guaranteed to get D43 chips if you order Hynix RAM from your vendor.

Right now I have a set of D43's that I bought as generic PC3200, and I'm running 287 FSB 1:1 prime stable (2X256).

My experience with the 512 MB sticks are that they only clock to about 267-275 FSB stable.

I found that www.anitec.ca has guaranteed Hynix modules in DDR400 for quite a cheap price if you're willing to get the memory shipped rather than buy locally.
