I was wondering, will ATi release something better? or is the real patch gonna be almost the same thing as the beta? Thanks for the help.

I guess it will depend on the results, if it sucks or barely raise the bar I bet they will really work on the beta to bring it up but if it up the FSB average a lot they will just fine tune it.

apparently it's suppose to raise average FPS by 6-7 points.

I imagine as they patch doom3 etc, or as ATI looks closer at the programming, we'll get improvements and optimizations.

the 4.8 cats will probably have a good deal of optimizations built into them.

I sure hope so...... ran the timedemo with the 4.9beta..... crashed my system just before it was finished.... maybe I needed to disable fastwrites but I've now switched back to omega 4.6..... I'll wait until an official driver comes out.... :(

maybe I needed to disable fastwrites ...

Fastwrites do nothing but bad things to ATI cards (other than the 9600). There is no performance gain, only stability problems. I'm not saying it will fix your specific crash, but overall fastwrites do nothing good.
