Best Driver for gf fx 5950 ultra

Alright so I have the fx 5950 ultra, and have had it for quite some time now... Well as long as drivers go 53.03 seems to be working the best for me although I haven't tested many... My only problem is when I try to get 44.03 to work since people say that is the best driver for 2001se to use it won't install my card, and 3dmark refuses to run... Does anyone know why this would happen or what driver I should use instead?

because the newest drivers make you lose around 1200 points or more in 3d mark 2001... I'm not talking about drivers I use for gaming, but drivers when I benchmark... So far I found 53.03 to be the best, but I wonder if anyone else had better luck with a different driver...
