I'm buying a 1.4ghz t-bird and KG7 board. I was wondering if you guys thought i should get the KG7-raid for $245(CDN) or the KG7-lite for $220.
I don't do anything TOO intensive with my computer...

Go with the lite.... AZZKIKER found out the hardway that raid is a pain in the but and it slows you down. I have the lite haven't got a chance to power it up , igota get 3/8 OD tubbing for my waterblock tomma 1st.Theres not need for raid and other stuff... less stuff = less probs and cheaper lol.If you wana get alot of ram go get the ABiT KG7 not the lite neither raid just the plain KG7 comes with everything except raid.If you wan't good ram to go with this goto www.crucial.com gl with my info hope i helped.

Depends whether you think you can manage without the extra RAM expansion capabilities. Seeing as RAM prices are so cheap there's not a lot of point in buying 128MB sticks anymore, you might as well get 256MB sticks - so if you buy one now you still have one slot free, in which you could put another and have half a gig of DDR RAM. That ought to be enough, but I like to cover my bases - I quite fancy a gig of DDR sometime in the future (I have the KG7-RAID on it's way to me at the moment) :)
I also went with the RAID version because if my budget will stretch to it I want two 40gig IBM 60GXPs in striping - and again, it gives me the option if I ever decide I want to use it. Still, if you never plan to use RAID you can probably live without it.
Here's hoping that I don't fry my board with the volt mod I want to try... :D
