Hey all, having this strange problem with my CD drives...
#1 Pioneer DVD-r
#2 Samsung CD-r
So, i have Max Payne 2 to install, it is 3 disks.
I put in disk #1 and #2 -- it detects the name, icon and contents but no autoplay (I dont mind no autoplay)
I start up disk 1 and click install, no probs.
It askes for disk 2, i point it to the second drive and it installs, no probs.
It askes for disk 3 so i take out disk 1, put it in. I hear it spin up, but the name and icon stay like the drive is empty -- but i can read the contents. I click on "OK" to start installing from this disk, and promptly i get no response for the installer, just freezes and "Not responding" on end task, the installer goes but the "point to CD" window stays open, only a reset gets rid of this.
On rebooting, i see that the two CDs that are in have been properly read, and thier names and icons are there.
WTF? :|
I have tried some registry tweaks, services, device manager, bios
I'm stumped, and when im stumped im annoyed :bang head:

EDIT: I just left it for a few minutes on the CD point screen... it seems to have started working again? Strange... i would still like to fix it so it is faster though. Would it be to do with "Stomp DLA" my copying program?
Thanks,
