Hi, Im looking to buy a SATA Hard Drive but my mother board doesn't support SATA. Im planning to purchase a newer mother board at the end of the year that would support it. I was looking to buy "Western Digital 200GB Serial ATA Hard Drive" hoping that it has both EIDE and SATA so I would be able to use it now and when I upgrade. Any suggestions?

(This is being posted for a friend. Mother board not listed in the signature.)

No hard drives come with both serial ata and ide. You can get sata to ide convertors to use sata drives on ide boards.

Nope. You can get IDE to SATA adapters. Be mindful that unless you're getting a true SATA drive (Raptor), SATA offers very little, if any, performance boost at all.

Actually the Raptor uses a bridge chip. The only drives that are native SATA are Seagate 7200.7 and the Maxtor Maxline 3.
