Altec Lansing has two high end 2.1 systems, the FX6021 and MX5021. I have found the FX6021 for $200 and the MX5021 for $130. Money isn't a big issue here. Which would be better for someone who plays games, listens to music(rock and rap), and watches some movies on his computer?

Update: Money isn't an issue when talking about $130 or $200.

If money isnt an option, why not invest in a home audio receiver or amplifier, and then buy a nice pair of bookshelf speakers and perhaps a subwoofer?

Reviews I have read say that both the FX6021 and the MX5021 are more clear than the ProMedias. They also say that the ProMedia's have more bass. I've heard the ProMedias up against the MX5021 and the MX5021 definately sound nicer.

Well I was saying money isn't a big deal when it comes to a difference of $70. You're talking about a difference of hundreds of dollars, Azzkiller.

All you said was "Money isn't a big issue here".
You did not mention a budget of any kind.Anyhow,Good luck and have fun with your new speakers.

I'm sorry I didn't make that connection. You worded it as if money was no object.

It's cool. I could use some more opinions though.

When I was researching computer speakers, I read that the MX5021 beat the FX version because it was $70 and while the FX has slightly better quality sattelities, the MX has a better sub.

Just my 2 cents,
