View Full Version : Slockets allow >133 FSB?
I thought Slockets only go up to 133 FSB? I thought you set jumpers on them which can only allow 100 or 133 FSB operation.
So how do they actually work? Do they just set the core voltage, and whatever FSB your motherboard is capable of it transmits it to the CPU?

socket convert a socket 370 chip into a slot 1 chip.
Some let you change the voltage on them...
FSB options are chipset related and motherboard related things so the socket can not give you a speed that your mother board can not do... The socket can tell the motherboard what the defualt speed of the cpu is... and the motheroard uses that... usally you can still controll the FSB in the BIOS (set the socket to auto)

Depends on the slotket too, mine for some reason can't be set to "auto", if I want to OC higher than a 115 FSB. I have to set the jumper to 133 FSB on the slotket, and then set the MB bios to what ever I'm tring to get to.
