View Full Version : Low score on 3DMark 2001 with PIII 600 and Geforce 2 GTS and 384 Mb of ram
I just installed Windows 2000 on my computer and my 3D games are runing poorly. I have a PIII600, 384Mb ram. I donloaded the latest drivers from ELSA for my Gladiac GeForce 2 GTS and everything. I tried tested my performance on 3dMark2001 and I got below a 1000 when the settings were at a minimal 640*480 16bit....... When I had Win ME I recieved much better scores. Does anyone have a solution to my problem? I don't get it. Is it Windows 2000 or did I forget something. Please help.

first off, welcome to the forums. Do you have anything sharing your pci slot next to the agp card? What parts do you have e.g. mobo, sound card, other things)? Do you have any IRQ conflicts? Latest 4-in-1 drivers(if required of course). Is it running in compatability mode?

I'd check all your drivers....
I just ran 3DMark2001 on my PC (PIII 600, 196Meg o' RAM, and a Hercules Prophet II MX 64Meg card, unclocked) with the settings all at minimum, and got 2194......
At 1024*768/32-bit colour, I score 1500-ish.......
There sounds like something isn't right with your drivers

Welcome to the Forums! This will be moved to the Video and Sound section as soon as I feel you've had a chance to read it.
I have:
MSI 6309
ELSA Gladiac - GeForce 2 GTS
PIII 600E
384Mb ram
30G hard drive
Sound Blaster Live
Win 2000
I will get the latest 4 in 1 drivers and try again. All the drivers are updated for all my components.
When I had Win ME I had much better scores. So I think it has something to do with Win 2000.

After I installed the VIA 4 in 1 drivers my benchmark shot up to 3000. Well, I guess that was the problem. Thanks for your help everyone.
