Hello! Some of the people here probably think I am a liar and trying to annoy people but all I want to know is this. I am 14 years old as you can tell by my profile. I would paste the results on the internet but dont know how. some people have told me before but i am a idiot and need step by step instuctions. Can you plzzzz tell me how and I would be more than happy to paste the results. And by the way, my brother said that since the multipliers on Intel are locked, then how can his celeron 300 overclocked to 650mhz run it. But if your therie on changing the multiplier is it wont help, then how can his 300 celeron overl****ed to 450(your therie) run max paine fine. It is a game. The requirements for this game is at least a 700mhz I was told. So how can a 450mhz celeron(your therie) run a game that requires 700mhz to run smoothly do that?? And my brother has about 300 and something mb or ram. Not any more than that. Since changing the multiplier does do anything, then how can his computer do that?? Someone explain plzzz. And by the way, if I was being a complete fool and trying to make people mad then why would I write all this stuff for nothing. you think I have nothing else better to do???? I love learning. Plzz explain your therie. Thank you.

Evan, I'll do the best that I can to explain thisL Your asking why your brothers system which is multiplier locked is overclocked? The answer to that is the Front Side Bus(FSB). Although the multiplier is locked, you can still ajust the FSB. In doing so, it will overclock the chip. The chips speed is determined by the multiplier times the FSB. so if the 300's multiplier is 4.5, and the fsb is 66MHz. If you up the FSB to 100MHz, then you have it running at a magic 450MHz. As for your question about max pain: Video cames are more dependant on the video card than on the cpu speed. so if you have a semi-slow computer with a good video card, it will run the game better than a fast system with a bad video card. I hope that answers some of your questions...BTW, there is no such thing as a bad question.

Mr. PCman is right on. I used to have a Celeron 300a CPU too. In their day the were they overclocking king of the hill. However, let me assure you that all Celeron CPUs are clock multiplier locked (well except for a few very rare engineering processors). To overclock them you raise the front side bus speed (FSB) like was explained. I ran my little Celly 300 at 463.5 MHz for well over a year (4.5X103 FSB) and it rocked. I also ran two video cards, one was a TNT AGP card and the other was a 3Dfx Voodoo graphics excelerator PCI card. The heart of the computer was an Abit BH6 motherboard and boy, this rig was a mega gaming machine. Ahhh, those were the days.

Geez, 300 at 650

I could get mine to post @ 600.

People who dont mind loud computer, play loud mp3's, and like fast computers, i would defintely recomend the sk-6 heat sink with the delta fan option. It's the best. Heat sink it same temp as room temp. Awsome.

[B]Nope. Air cooling only!!! you would be surpised what that delta fan option can do baby. It rocks!!! I want to post the benchmarks but how? i dont have a digital camera or anything??? Help plzzz! I realy want to show off it. LOL

I am sorry even but I don't see it happening. not with air cooling.
Since you want to post your benchmarks this is how you do it
When you run something like CPUid or some other cpu ID program.
Highlight the windo it is in and hit alt+print screen buttons.
Then open something like paint shop pro and right click it should say something like paste new image. Save it as a gif and then start a new post and use the attach file section of the post right about the submit reply button.
I really want to see these benchmarks but dude if your really running that that speed say bye bye to your CPU cause there is now way it can cool well enough to save that CPU life.

hmm. 1300 is attainable, but not stock cooled unless he had a super chip. that is only 108Mhz FSB. I agree it is a bit far fetched, but for now I'll give hime the benifit(sp?) of the doubt.

Hey zuck gou, go to overl****ers in the cpu database. The average is really close to 600. Some figure like 589.Why can't u get your that high. What cooling do you have???

By the way, max payne has min requirements of 450 mhz not 700 mhz. 700 is the recommended.

The requirements for new games are still lagging behind top end vid cards and processors thank god. That will not last for long though I suspect. 1.3 ghz out of a 800 mhz very impressive.
