anyone overclockintel633onmsi6178m/b

I am a newbie and would like to overclock my intel633cpu. I have a ms6178 motherboard. I can't find anyone who has done an overclock with this board. Has anyone out there done it and what did they do to achieve their results?

Don't know it personally, thats a Slot 1 board right?

Check your bios out to see if you can find FSB adjustments and Core voltage adjustments.

Ok I have a 633 but I don't have that board. Its a rather nice CPU as long as it is a cC0. Did it comp in the computer you have now or did you buy it and if so did you buy it retail(boxed from intel) or OEM(no box)

The reason I ask is because I can help you overclock this pup. All I need to know is the setpping spec on your CPU and I can tell you how much you can about see out of it.

If you don't have the box then you will have to pull the heatsink off and look at the cpu.

What you are looking for is a aet of numbers and letters in the white circled area.

then check this url for your CPUs stepping.

Example of a cC0 stepping code SL4NY

Pray you have a cC0 it will overclock much better than the cB0

Also it would be nice of you told us what type of heatsink your useing. Also Ram and Video card along with any other PCI cards in your system.

633 is a fcpga he could be useing a slocket

Yea I know.

I was gonna suggest him using a sloket with voltage changes if his motherboard didn't have it.
