Hello, I have a 2.6 overclocked to 3.43. Im suspecting that my "Value Ram" is holding me back to overclock 3.6ghz. I can overclock to this but its a bit unstable. If I invested into PC4000 (256x4) will I make 3.6ghz? Thanks

have you tried 5/4 or 3/2 ratio?
I believe with that Asus board his only options are 5/4 and 1/1. I'm guessing you are already in 5/4, so....
What speed is ur ram?

p4c800 dlx have 4:5, 1:1, 5:4, 3:2 ratios available.
also try using memtest86 to see if it's really the rams problem.
Okay, sorry about my guesswork, but it's obvious he is running in 5:4 mode or his memory speed would be alot different. Anyways, depending on what speed ur ram is, I'd be willing to bet that is ur problem.
And yes, running memtest is a great way to find out for sure, let us know what you find out.
You have probably reached the max of the CPU. You must have a good 2.6C chip, because most of them only average 3.2 to 3.3 gig. With Value RAM, you will need to be running at the 3:2 ratio (266 BIOS setting) at where you are at. Yes, this is pushing the limits of the RAM, although most Value RAM will tolerate that much of an O/C.

I agree with Batboy. Most of us who had 2.6C's hit a big wall at 3.25GHz, so you're doing better than about 90% of us. You might get a little more with higher speed memory, but probably not much.
Ya, my 2.6 with water only got me to 3.3@1.7vcore

Yep, i cant run 2-2-2-5 @ 335 FSB on my BH-5. Thats at a 3:2 divider. :)

I had my old 2.6C @ 3.9 in my Vapochill :D Unfortunatly corrision ate one of the pins :temper: Its now hanging from my key chain :D
But yes, the 2.6C dont really overclock that well.
I meant average air cooling. Obviously any CPU will go higher on a vapo.
