I have a abit bx133 raid motherboard and i have a cel 566 which will do over 850 stable i would like to upgrade to a P3 but not sure what the best one is to overclock,not sure why i feel i need to overclock because the prices keep dropping,but i NEED to overclock,what do you think the best ovlerclockable p3 is that will be faster then my cell566? thank you,Rich

i read your reply as you probably would assume and saw that you have the same motherboard as me. Doesn't raid rock?? Back onto the subject, there is a simple anwser to your uestion. The pentium 3 will go way faster than if you overl****ed your cely because of a lot of things. One is the cash(it's spelt wrong). I like to spell it that way. And other things. Although, I have a celeron and would never go back. Sure, if you have the money and dont mind dishing out a lot of money, then go for it. Pentium is the way to go. If you want to have a good computer without spending a lot of money, then go with the celeron because celeron's are the overclocking kings. Go with thge cleron if you want to get a realy good computer for a cheap price that will last you. P.S. I would get good cooling if you want to overclock it realy high. I would go with the Sk-6 heat sink with the delta fan option if you dont mind noise. lol! It is noisy. i have to warn you but if you have mp3's, just blast them. lol! Have fun and in my opion, if your not rich or dont come from a rich family , go with the celeron. Celeron is less then half the price than a pentium.

I love my cal 566,i think i paid $45 bucks for it and when i had it in my soyo tek 6vba133 motherboard i had it running at 1004 (i think its been awhile}and all i had was a 20 7200rpm harddrive sitting in a mobil rack,256 megs of cas2 radion 32 meg ddr vid card 2 fans and a golden orb fan a blue orb on the vid card and i bought artic silver paste but still with all that i still seemed to bottle neck during some high end games(hitman,quake3...)and that is the only reason i want to go to the p3 i just want to know whats the best for the buck and i love to overclock and thank you for your reply,and by the way i haven't tried to strip the hard drives i need to go buy anther 20 gig hard drive(can't wait

I need 256 l2 cashe so what is the best pent to overclock?

Word around town is that 700 PIIIs will almost alwasy run 933@133FSB, with just a little voltage tweaking. Anything below that may not be worth the overclock - you may want a little more oomph to make it noticeably faster than the Celeron - dontcha love the low-mult Cellies? Sure, a Duron 800 will waste my 633 at 950, but it's a fun trip getting the Celeron way up there. Plus, you don't need liquid nitrogen to cool them.
