I did the test yesterday I got 5393 this seems really bad. When I oc'd at 428mhz core 382mhz memory I got 5600 still bad, yes?

There must be a problem, any ideas?

Thank you.

nothing wrong with your score considering the system...... the more you overclock, the higher the scores will be in benchmarking. :D

I didn't think my system was that bad. Oh well. What can you recommend I could do with it to get some more power?

If I try to overclock my cpu and/or gpu how will I know when to stop, you know without melting my processors?

Also dont want to go of topic here but what are those funny numbers after the type of memory people have got in these forums? (eg. 2-3-4-6)

Cheers all.

if you check my system the only thing i have changed is im at 2.2ghz not 2.4 ghz and i get 5800 in 3dmark 03 so there much be somehing wrong, plus i have a non pro.

How you get your cpu mhz so high? Got any for oc'ing my cpu?

With the system in my sig I can just barely break the 6000 barrier.

How you get your cpu mhz so high? Got any for oc'ing my cpu?

I would start by using memtest86 on your ram to find where the limit is on your fsb. Then once you find your limit, drop the multiplier and try to boot. No boot = you should up the voltages. I haven't really any experience with your ram but mine is kingston 333 value ram (512mb) and its only memtest stable until 191 mhz, mine also doesn't like the higer voltages.

Those are the memory timings..... the lower the memory timings usually the higher the performance.... I used to wonder the same thing..... ;)

Nothing wrong here either, just realize that the higher the fsb.... the higher scores will be..... ie;

cpu running at 2.4GHz with low fsb and a higher multi will have a lower score than the same cpu running 2.4GHz with high fsb and lower multiplier.

That is pretty low IMO. I have reached 6090 with my setup at lower speeds.

I thought it was low too, but I can't think why. I have not changed my chipset driver, I'm not sure if I need to or how to. I installed the latest omega drivers and it seems to have installed alright, maybe it hasn't.

Oh.... what could the problem be??

Have you set the sliders in the ATI opengl/direct3d tabs to performance, instead of quality?

here are some things to think about in tweaking your system for better performance.
1. overclocking the cpu & gpu
2. increase the speed and amount of ram along with tweaking the timings
3. increase the cooling of components inside the case
4. newest drivers and bios (of course the ones that work best for you)
5. perhaps a newer more powerful & stable psu.....

These are not the only ways of improving system performance but if you invest your time & money into these things you're sure to have a more impressive system.

How to I tweak the timings, and how will I know when it is at an optimum??

Also how do I know how stable/unstable my existing psu is??

Thank you.

I can't see where to do this if it is in control panel for the driver mine doesn't work since I installed the omega driver. Should I try installing it again? I don't want to go back to the normal ati drivers the omega one is supposed to be better.

My monitor is set to 85hz, don't know if that helps.

Thanks.
