i noticed that one member lutawicasa has a cel 566 running at 1054. i'm curious what bus speed and cooling is used to get it that far stable. i'm thinking about upograding my 566@850 to a 800@? using about 120 fsb to speed up my pc overall. if i can get my 566 to a higher fsb without poping it, that would be a good improvement. anybody have specs on what they are doing on a 566 to get more out of it?
Probably got a real good chip and some watercooling rig.
Air cooling isn't impossible, but I can't imagine it being 100% stable with all that heat being generated.

i've reset my fsb to 105 and sandra shows the temp at 101 F at 1.78 V. how does that look and what should i try next. p.s. should i replace the golden orb that came with the chip?
I had a soyo tek 6vba133 motherboard and i ran it at 1004 very stable i used to fans a blue orb fan on the vid card and a golden orb fan on the cpu,at first i had problems keeping it cool til i bought artic silver paste and it drop the temp 5c and kept it cool,i'd still have that set up but thanks to lighting it is no more

Ooops, sorry I missed yer post. I'm running at 124 Mhz fsb and have now backed down my voltage to 1.95 v. Yes this is with air cooling. I have the Delta 7K Black Label on my Alpha 6035 w/ AS applied. 2 120mm and 1 80mm intake case fans, and 2 80mm and 1 120mm exhaust as well as the 2 80mm at the PS. When I first managed to get'er up to 1054, I was pumping 2.01 v into her but after a month or so I tried backing down the VCC a little. The lowest I've been able to go with stability is the 1.95 v I'm currently at. This is with one of the older Cbo steppings. Seems these are the exception to the rule. Usually the Cco stepping oc's higher, but even checking the database it appears with the 566's the Cbo is King :) While the weather here in Chicago was in the 90's I did have to back the oc down to 954, but with ambient temps in the low 80's it remains stable at 1054 with a max load temp of 40-41c.
Hope that answers any questions, and if not I'll check back off and on :D
Oh, and feel free to PM or email me. I'm more than happy to lend a hand.
You have to remember, not all Celeron 566 will do that good. I had what I considered an exceptional cB0 C-566 and was able to reach 978 MHz and still be stable. I actually got it to load and start Windows once above 1 gig, but as soon as I moved the mouse it locked up. If you are running your C-566 at a stable 850 MHz and haven't raised the voltage much, then I'm guessing 112 FSB is within reach if you have good cooling. This will give you 952 MHz, a very nice overclock for that chip. Cooling is the key when you start pushing up into that range though.
My 566 is doing 850 solid right now with a coolermaster and radio shack thermal paste....and 4 x-tra case fans....chip is also wired
will boot at 110 FSB and run windows but locks up after a few mins....with a better HSF I'm sure i could get more out of it but i'm happy enough
