Dtek puts barbs on the pump for you. If you buy the pump out of the box it will come with the stock fittings or 3/4 in 3/8 out

it comes with a billion barbs and adapters

I used the 3/4" and just superheated my 1/2" ID clearflex

It comes with a whole bag of connectors when you buy from Drs foster & smith(pet store). You'll get all of the connectors you see here.

I ordered mine with 1/2" fittings by mistake, so I just went to home depot and bought new fittings. They were right in the plumbing section.
