I friend of mine has a Pentium4 PC and he would like to try some water cooling. I really can't help him much because I've been using AMD processors only since 2001.

This is his setup

Windows XP PRO SP1
Asus P4800 Socket478
CPU Intel Pentium 4, 3.2 GHz, HT @ 4.1 GHz (4160 MHz)
1 GB DDRAM PC3200 (2x512)
ASUS ATI Radeon 9600XT TVD 128MB DDR
Seagate HDD 120 GB, ST380023A, BARRACUDA IV 8MB, 7200 RPM
DVD RW ASUS +/- DRV 084P
Samsung SyncMaster 19" SM 957MB, Flat, 1920x1440/64Hz Silver/Black
SoundMAX Digital Audio System

All I know is that he's using a HSF that came with the processor. Also can you tell me how high will these CPUs go ?
Being an AMD user this seems pretty high to me ;)

Any recommendations ?

TIA

You would need some extreme air cooling for a 1Ghz increase.

Stock Fan wouldn't cut. I don't believe it Lol

I agree with sagitta85. Some temps would be interesting ;)

Maybe I should point this out.

He lives approx 5000 miles away and I have no access to his PC :D. He only recently got this rig and this is his first OC I think. It did seem a lot to me but then again I don't know much about Intel CPUs.

That's all I know so far and I will ask him about the temps and anything you want me to ask him.

So what's a good water cooling P4 system ?

Sorry I can't give you advice on the water cooling.

Don't you mean the cpu came with the computer? And the Custom Heatsink was added on?

55C isn't all that bad for a 1Ghz increase.
