Anyone have one of these or ever used one? Seems like a novel idea.

Yep works like a champ. Or a swappable bay.

Keep in mind that if you use this for multiple OS's you still have to reboot. No getting over that....

I would rather keep my swapable bays. They cost me $15 each, have 2 fans built in and do not waste a bay.

Kinda a niffty toy, but I'll stick with the removeables as well.

I just build a whole new computer. What with the economic slump, now is the time to buy!

I'd use the Trios, but I don't wanna have to reboot everytime I want a different OS. That's why I have a KVM switch. Once I get my Linux box up, I'll attach it to my KVM along side my 2K box.

Well itint that annoying? I had that idea about 5 or 6 months ago and was told that it wouldnt work due to writing in the boot sector... Im not much in programming so I let it drop... But thats an idea that I had... not quite as complecated thou... basiclly what I had thought was putting a switch in the bay slot that would let you switch on or off what ever chosen HDD that you wanted to boot from when you started your machine...

on the switch...

RX-910T6 comes with ATA/66 low loss cables, and support all IDE drives.

if it comes with ATA/66 cables, i wonder if it will support ATA/100
my Guess.... is Not

same with removeables... hard to find ATA100 for under $60 as i've seen.

if you care about that transfer rate, be carefull what you buy supports it.

good luck, hope this helps
