Login Restart <<<<---- This is wierd!

My friend called my yesterday saying that when he trys to go into windows xp, the computer just restarts. I was thinking at the time what is he talking about so i went over to his house to see what the problem is, when I got there i turned on the computer it loaded up go to the windows xp login screen i clicked on there username and entered the password it started loading up the settings as usual then all of sudden the computer just restarts i didn't click nothing didn't move the mouse or nothing it just restarted. I tried a couple of times thinking it maybe its just a little that will fade off after giving it time to rest, tried again and the same happened. I can't think of what could be wrong can someone help out please.

have you tried safe mode? Could be something bad loading on startup that is causing it.

how do u put it in safe mode1?

Hit F8 before the XP loading screen appears, right after the BIOS.
