Kristian, what O/S are you using. Did you go into the internet settings ( Win 9x ) in the controll panel and set up your connection there? ( connect using my default connection )
I use a dial-up so I'm not familular with ISDN modems but I would guess they can't be much differant.
Give us a little more info on what you have done to set it up and what O/S you are using, maybe someone will be able to help you a little better.

Win 2k has been an issue with me for a while now. As I said I have a dial-up. Win 2k wont auto-dial as far as I know. I would rather use 2k but I can't and fold the way I want to, 24/7. I ditched 2k from 2 computers and reinstalled 98se on them just so I could Fold@Home. I even posted in the O/S topic on this site and no one there had any clues there. Oh well, I should have a cable line in here in the next month or so so I can go back to 2k then. I really like 2k's stability.

One way around this is to install so many clients that it won't run out of work in a 24 hour period. The only catch is that you can't walk out the door if all of them are ready to run out of work, so you have to stagger them (shut some of them down) so that they will have plenty of work left when you leave, in other words if three just got more work, shut them down and run on the fourth, and restart them when you get ready to leave. When you want to restart them, use ctrl c to shut down the ones running and restart EM, so that they will all restart. :)

Stanman, this is unacceptable.
Do you know just how crazy it would drive me knowing there was work on my boxes just sitting there when it could be running. :)

Just kidding.... Kristian, stanman has a good point. You could do what he said but if you are like me you will want the d*%# box to do what you want it to do. I know there has to be a way but I can't figure it out.

Ok here is what you do, pick out some site on the net, and go to favorites drop down menu, put a check in the "make availablle offline" box, then click "customize" and "next". In the page for links to other pages. check yes for 3 links deep, next create new schedule, put every 1 day at a time when you would normally be gone. check the box to automatically connect, next, under tools hit synchronize, then select one of the pages that you chose for offline and click properties and then schedule, select one of the schedules and click edit and then synchronization items and check "automatically connect box. Under schedule hit advanced and you can have it repeat every so often then go back to first box and click setup. at the top click on idle and then advanced and you can set it to update as often as you want. you would want to find pages that change and have enough links so that it would stay on a while. Sound confusing? I think it should work, if you get it right :p

I would still run at least two clients so one will be running while the other is waiting for it to connect.

That sounds just crazy enough to work.
Let me know guys if someone gets it to connect. I'll be ditching 98 in a flash and reinstalling 2000.

Thanks for all the thought Stanman !

Kristian, have you had any luck getting that puppy to auto connect ? I'm really curious to know how to do it so I can switch back to 2k.

From what I've read it seems that Win2k is the only OS that the 2.0 client runs reliably on at the moment. Of course, they're still beta testing.
