I have the KT7A-RAID board and I have $350. My board can take 3 sticks of 512meg SDRAM, lets max it out. I am leaning towards the Corsair or Crucial. I am also looking at Kingmax and a few "Value" brands, I can get Zeus, which I have had good luck with, for $57 each.
I am willing to spend the money, if I have to, and my usage pattern would use the extra memory. I am prone to have 20 or so apps up and I do a little sound file work. I do not care if it is "overkill", the whole system is overkill. I am wanting 3 sticks of the best 512megs I can get.
What do you guys think?
I would say the corsair xms150 is the best of the 512mb memory available.
Only because not alot of the better memory's are available in 512mb.

I had noticed that.
That Corsair is at the top of my short list.

I would personally go with the crucial. I've never gotten a bad stick and the value to performance ratio is excelent

Have to go with the Corsair First then Crucial ! This is so far is a all Blue Star Thread ! Very Nice :) I just wanted to say congrats to all of you as each one of you I have learned tons from and hope to share some of the wealth back.

I'll have to ruin the all-blue thread. Sorry guys. I don't have much experience with Corsair, but Crucial has always been good to me. Crucial seems to need a extra voltage nudge to hit aggressive settings though. Don't know about the Corsair.

personally i still think that 512 of DDR at a high speed would be enough for what u do. But if you got it flaunt it. I think id get 512 or maybe 768, and spend the xtra somewhere else! Just my personal opinion, but it is you choice-Corsair does require less voltage to run at he same speed - but it is more $$$, so is Mushkin

My KT7A-R is not a DDR board, I have to have SDRAM. It also accepts upto 3 512meg DIMMs, so that is what I plan to get. I think I have spent a little money on all parts of my system and I know I am a *little* nuts. I should remake my list of components, I accedentally deleted it and it was a full page.
I was a little undecided, so I asked you guys. You are not helping much! The opinions expressed have been very balanced. Now I have to go check out Mushkin, I had forgotten them.
Still leaning towards the Corsair, but the Crusial is cheaper and the specs are real close. If someone made some nice CAS2 512 sticks I would have already ordered.
Keep the opinions comming, I appriciate it.

sorry bout that i thought i saw the kg7 not the kt7, but crucial is good, and cheap but i dont see many 512 sticks. Go for Corsair i think it is actually the cest out there. if ya wanna go real high find some Tonicom pc166, or go to the OCZ stre and get some OCZ pc180

One word.. Crusial :)
Given your choices, and the price I'd go with them, might as well get a good brand name and good price along with it.
let us know how it turns out
