Short story I bought a HP 753n Computer two years ago. I have plaied around with hte limits HP computer can do. So I decided to build my first computer, nothing really fast just better then my HP. So what I found out is that I can use the Intel pent 4 that came with the HP. With a newer motherboard that is not Intel, but before I get a new motherboard I need to find out the socket for the intel so i can get same card for that socket. So if I can get any help on this matter I would love it. :D

Hi Scotch,

It appears as though the HP 753n has a Micro-Star International MS-6577 motherboard in it. This board has the 845G chipset on it which uses a Pentium4 478 mPGA processor. (micro Pin Grid Array) with a 533MHz FSB. (Front Side Bus)

Here are a couple links you can check out:

Micro-Star International MS-6577 is not an Intel (brand) motherboard. But it is an Intel-based motherboard. Are you trying to find a motherboard that you can overclock?

Good luck.
