and if so on what kind of memory works best on it?
does it do what it says it does i was wondering because i have a asus p4c800-e deluxe mother board cant seem to get higher clock speed out of my p4 3.2
Thanks for you help.

Here is what it did with some bh-5 ram:

This is with bh-6:

And here you get a little bit of OCZ EB flavor:

Its not so much as which ram does it work best with, but I believe more along the lines of how much better does it let your current ram work. Some stuff responds to add'l voltage more than others, so if you were buying new ram and a Booster to boot, then yeah, you would for sure want to see what is played best with.

What ram are you currently using and how fast have you run your 3.2? With a multiplier of 16, you will not be reaching the same kinds of fsb, obviously, that someone using a 2.4 or even a 2.8 would, for example. With or without a Booster.

What is it that you would like/hope to achieve out of your system?

Thanks for the help! I am at a stable 3.6 Overclock right now I have 2 sticks of
Kingston 256 mb khx3200ak2/512 memory core set at 2.7v cpu core ste at 1.6v
system clock at 225 FSB is 900.16 but when i try to bump past 225 i get a unstable
computer :( that is why i was asking about that mod. to see if i could get more out if it
I am water cooling my system as well too with a koolance exos ai system on it.

Since that is the "A" version of the KHX PC3200, it is using winbond ch-5 chips. You should consider searching this and other forums for info on the ch-5 chip, to get a feel for how far they will go with increased voltage (in vmodded boards, for example).

Also go to the CPU database to get an idea of just how high your cpu might go, based on the reported results from the same stepping as yours. Calculate your required fsb, in order to hit these speeds and that will give you an idea of what you've got to get out of your ram and your cpu in oder to meet this goal, and whether it is realistic.

From the database, there are 3.2s running at over 4.0, but most are under that. You have to reach a fsb of 250 in order to hit 4.0GHz. Your search of ch-5 will give you a clue as to whether it will hit that with increased voltage or not.

You might also consider this as a good time to upgrade to a gig of some of the new Samsung based chips which will run a fast timings at DDR400, and up in excess of 250 at more relaxed timings. You could end up not even needing the booster. Either way, it should be fun. Good luck.

Wow I went to the data base site and i can get up to 4080 MHz out of my pentium 4 3.2 cpu same number as mine SL792 :)
Thanks for the good Info on this and more. I will do some more searching on the winbond ch-5 chips and see what I find out. Thanks
