well first off, i am new to this stuff. So i was wondering what the diff was between say pc 133 and pc 800 (or pc 2100 etc) ram is? is is the speed? Also can i interchange them meaning can i have 128 megs of pc 133 and 128 megs of pc 2100? Will that count as me having 256 megs of ram? or will i just be able to use pc 133 with other sticks of pc 133?

It depends on your motherboard and what type of memory it can use.

133-180 are sdram.
600,800 are rambus.
2100-2600 are ddr.

Usually u can't interchange different types of memory (e.g. PC133 with PC2100) because they have a different number of pins and wont fit in a DIMM slot designed for another type of memory. But u might be able to switch to a different kind of memory if your MoBo has different sets of memory slots (for example, i have seen mobo's that have mem slots for both SDRAM and DDR ram) but even if u had one of these boards u would only be able to use either SDRAM or DDR RAM at one time (can't use both @ same time)
