does this RAM do dual channel on nf7-s

i all,

i just bought 2 stick of "Ocz DDR 512MB Pc3200" premier series 3-4-4-8 which is 1024MB (1GB) for my nf7-s v2 mobo, and i would like to know does these ram do dual channel on my mobo ? any one know plz tell me..so ill return it..

As long as it is in the right slots, it should work. I believe is is supposed to be in slots 1&3.

I think any ram will do dual channel on NF7. assuming they are the same speed to run at the fastest. Just as long as they are in the correct slots.

While it will run in dual-channel, if default timings are 3-4-4-8, these may or may not be what you should be looking for to use in an AMD XP rig. Do you know if they will run with faster timings at 200? Even Kingston ValueRam PC3200 has default timings of 3-3-3-(8?) and is currently available for just under $145/gig, which is a decent price for 2x512MB sticks in today's market. Faster timings will certainly make a performance difference on that NF7. I'm not saying that you should go out and buy the KVR, just that it would be, based on timings alone, probably closer to what you should be looking for vs the OCZ you listed. I do believe that you should re-evaluate whether the OCZ you've selected is the right ram to match with your board.

I thought the Premier ram has timings of 2.5,3,3,7. At least mine did.

OCZ Premier Value Series - timings are 3-4-4 per newegg product description, priced at $191. Is this what you have? If so, I believe that for $40-$50 or so more, there are several other choices available to you that would work better with your board, both from OCZ as well as other brands. From OCZ consider:

PC3500 with 2.5-3-3-7 timings for $213

There are more choices, but the point being that the ram timings do not match up well with your board, in my opinion.

If cost is the overriding factor here, then don't ignore the kvr for $142, after the $20 rebate. That is almost $50 less than the ram you selected, and slightly faster default timings.
