I would like to know which Duron cpu is the 'best bang for the buck'? The 800mhz?
Thanks

The best bang for the buck Durons must be the 600 - 700's as these seem to overclock high as the 800's.
The Duron 800 though is a great CPU for the price and will usually hit 1 ghz without much effort providing you can keep it cool.

Check the CPU database on the front of Overclockers.com and compare for yourself, however imho all Durons offer an awesome bang for the buck

Best bang for the buck is Athlon TB 1.4 Gig AYHJA. It's only $114! Common, that's almost nothing compare to what you're getting.

Duron 600-700 or the T-Birds @ 1.0 ghz or higher 266 fsb of course.

I think the Duron 600-700's are the best for your dollar. I would
probably go with the 1.4. I have been waiting for the AYHJAR,
and finally when I see it, I don't have any money.

Depends on your definition of bang!!! I have this machine running a duron 750@1050 and a machine across the room running a 1.2g athalon and i get way more satisfaction out of makeing this machine go faster if i were wanting to overclock. starting out i would go for a 600 or 700 you could burn up 1 or 2 and learn a ton of info at a small price. that way when u do burn up that $100 chip u understand the reason. it sucks when they fry and u don't know why.
