This too was the very article that started it for me. And I actually built one just like this with the PVC. I had it cooling a 166 that wasn't overclocked just to see if it worked. It worked for 3 month before I upgraded the machine. I haven't ventured into watercooling again since then, but once I build this 2nd VP-6, then all may change.

One of my brothers sent me a pic of a waterblock, about 2 years ago. Since then it's been a mild intrest of mine, but not enough to actually try it yet.

I was reading somewere online a year and a half ago about a supercomputer that used water to keep the CPUs cool, and thought to myself "hey wonder if I can squeeze a few more MHz out of my K6-3?". So I searched for "CPU water cooling" and Altavista came up with a link to an overclockers.com article.
I've been toying with the stuff ever since.

I got the idea right here at OC.com and wondered why no one else ever thought of it. Of coarse we now have companys making it easier with great components.

The guy that I work with saw this article. And he mentioned that the old mainframes at the college that he used to work at used water taken from the closest dormatory pool. They just circulated the water in the pool from the computers (4 mainframes) to the pool. It kept the computers relatively cool, and kept an Olympic sized pool at about 85-90 degrees.

That article started me too...I haven't actually done it yet, but I'm planning on it soon . . .
