Extending wires?

Some of the wires for my inverter are to short to go around the perimeter of the case, then to where I have put the rest of my power cables. So I have 2 small wires going across my cas, which are very annoying and don't look to great. I was thinking of getting some more wire, cutting and stripping the ends, and soddering them together. Would this work and what kind of wire would I need?

With my experience anyway...I will not wire any hard drive, video card or any "important" device to any fan connection...Usually I will take one molex connector from the power supply and connect all the fans to that connection.

What I do is buy female, male molex connectors, pins and make a "custom" wiring loom for all the fans on one of the "molex" connectors off the power supply...

Really you want to save as many of the molex connectors from the power supply to power anything in your case and take one molex lead and power all the fans in your system with it.

Not that big of a deal...I like the 1000, 1080 Antec/Chietech cases, but installing 92m/m fans in all available fan positions...I run all the fans in these cases from one "molex" connector from the power supply...

I do however like to buy "high" or "medium" fans and 7 volt them...A Antec PlusView with a bunch of 92's is a sweet setup.

Thanks, will try later. Just kind of a pain because obviously I have fans on the front panel and on the back of the case, opposite ends. I'll probably try and run some cables under the motherboard. The ATX power connector/ wires is really annoying me to.

Any wire will do. Just make sure that in the end that red goes to red, black to black, yellow to yellow, and make sure that there are no shorts! I just recently put 3 panaflows in my pc. 2 in the power supply, which the original fans used a special header, so I just cut the connectors off the old fans and soldered them to the panaflow tails. I think most fan wires are 20-24 gauge, molex wires are 18-20.

Thanks, will deffinetly consider that. Going to try and re route wires first, but if I can't I will be extending them. I also want to try Hookem's idea of keeping the lines seperate.
