I want to buy the fastest Palamino available which according to Price watch is a 1.2 gig. I also want a mobo that uses the SIS 735 chipset. And I need the board to be easy to OC. Any thoughts on what the best set up would be? Come on guys, I can't be the only one who's mouth is watering over this set up. It seems to be the trick way to go at this point. Mike

The only Palominos available currently are mobile and MP versions. Desktop versions at 1.5+ GHZ are due out the first week in October. The SiS Chipsets are currently shipping, but if you are willing to wait for a Palomino, you might just as well wait for the Nvidia nForce mobos too. That is what I am doing.

Well is there anything inferior about the MP model of Polomino?
Any reason not to buy one at this point other than the new speed of 1.5gig? Is the later issue going to be better in some way?
Also, Do you know of any of the particulars of this new Nvidia nForce MB? I don't mind waiting but I would like to know all about it's specis such as chipset and so forth? Mike

The nVidia nForce 420 chipset is going to be awesome. It will utilize a 128 bit memory bus when used with DDR giving a memory transfer rate of over 4.2GB/s. A GeForce2 MX graphics engine (AGP 6) will be integrated into the northbridge, and nVidia's XBox APU with Dolby 5.1 will be integrated into the southbridge, along with ATA100, FastEthernet, USB, homePNA 2.0, and V.92 telephony. The northbridge and southbridge are connected with a HyperTransport bus with transfer rates over 800MB/s (much faster than PCI). Bottom line is a rock stable fully integrated mobo with all of the typical PCI devices on a HyperTransport bus. Performance increase over other mobos with the same processor will be from 30% to 300% depending on the benchmark.
There is a lot more too. Do a web search on nForce for more details.
