any advice would be appreciated to push this a bit further.

You are going to need to give that ram more voltage, in the range of 3.2v, give or take, to let it shine. I would suggest a DDR Booster from OCZ, but I don't think that it is compatible with your board, if I remember correctly. It would be the easiest way, if compatible. Check the DFI motherboard section or, alternatively, look here for voltage modding options for your DFI.

thankx. might sell the mushkin or use it in an upgrade on my daughter's machine and go the adata vitesta route.
