View Full Version : Windows 2000 drivers for old SB 16
I'm trying to find drivers for an old Sound Blaster 16 ISA sound card. I know there is no driver made for Windows 2000 by creative. Is there a way I can use another driver, or use the driver for that card but from a different OS?
Thanks
Eric
Win2K didn't detect it when it was installed?
I have an AWE64 ISA that was picked up perfectly. It should have a driver for it by default.
If not you may want to check out WinDrivers.com (http://www.windrivers.com)
Actually I just checked and Win2K doesn't support that card...sorry :[
The old sb16 is not a plug and play card so w2k may not pick it up. Support should be there for it though just go and manually add new hardware. You will need to know the irq and i/o to set it up. Another possible prob with why it is not working is that pci claims irq's before isa so the irq the sb is using may allready be taken by another device. Many bioses have an option to reserve an irq for such legacy devices.

Win2k has drivers for the sb16... The thing u need to do is:
Goto control panel, add remove hardware, add troubleshoot a device, search for a new device.
U gotta do that since sb16 dosent support pnp.
