one thing i hope for HL2

I hope the game is long, like the first HL.

Gabe has said 40hours, i seriously doubt that.

What do you guys think?

I much prefer a long game. I was pleased Far Cry lasted longer than i thought.

Games like Max Payne 2, Homeworld 2, are wicked games, but way to short, not forgetting COD to.

it realy depends on how you play it, do you like to plow through it?
or are you like me and love to look at every thing and try stuff out, and explore?
that is what will make it longer or not, and 40hrs is a pretty decent time, at least it aint Max Payne 2!

I like to explore, find everything, or at least try to, and i usualy play about 3 hours a day.

HL took me about 2 weeks to complete.

Ill probably play HL2, on the second to last difficulty.

I explore every little option very completely, and could wait for hours for the perfect shot.

Me and a sniper rifle in some games can wait forever for a perfect shot.

reminds me of the Thief series....i could wait for 15-30 minutes for the perfect blackjack shot on a gaurd. I played the hardest difficulty and made sure i got ALL the gold before i finished the mission.

me too, but that attitude killed deus ex 2 for me... before i was even a third through the game, it was impossibly easy - i had nearly unlimited ammo/credits, never ran into a spot where there was something cool i couldn't just buy with a tenth of my credits... i mean the challenge was basically completely gone... :/ made it quite boring really :(

No way, I like the play the game was meant to be played. Great action scenes and not reloading when I take damage. Like my cousin, annoys the hell outta me, took him a month to beat half life cause he'd reload everytime he'd lose 10 damage. And he never used rockets or grenades, because he was stocking up for a hard part (he never used them) Played 5 hours into the game only using a pistol. I just wanna strngle him.

Me, I like to jsut go with the game flow. I only reload, of course, when I die. I'll still keep on trucking even if I have 10 health. Yeah I like to explore too, but not search every tiny crevice.

You get more replay value when you go straight through the game, cause then you'll say, hmmm what if, I took this direction, or used this gun or yadda yadda
