Just got my new Athlon system up and running, but am getting really high temps. I currently don't have any case fans except the power supply one. I am using a Glaciator for CPU cooling and have a GF3 with a fan onboard. The temps for the CPU are in the upper fifty's just after I boot, and I think they are correct because if I try to do any gaming or installing the computer just freezes. Will a cupple case fans make that big of a difference in the temps that I get. If so could someone reccomend a few good fans??? Thanks for all the help:)

Case fans will improve the air-flow of ur case but even if u added loads ur cpu temp will not lower alot
did u open ur case lid??
cause if u didn't then the temps will be supa high about 8C-10C higher
also is ur HS seated correctly??
or did u apply any thermal grease if so did u apply enough or too little
cause a Glaciator is no way gonna give u temps higher than 50C
are u should try and check ur temp by using programs like MBM5, Sandra 2001 etc!!

T-Bird/Duron systems require a minimum of 100 cfm through the case. It's said that more than 150 cfm goes to waste. Unless you're lucky enough to have a case that came with mount points for 2 120mm fans(one intake, low in the front. And one exhaust, high in the rear) it's case cutting time.

The inescapable simple fact is that the K7 family of processors are H-O-T.
