Unknow program running preventing Boot Up

I could not get my system to boot past the Desktop & 3 items in the system tray as it still showed busy.
When I Ctrl-Alt-Del the close program box showed an "unknown Program Running"
When I selected "End Task" my system booted up OK
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the unknown program might be and how to disable it ?

First thing I'd do would be look at the start menu for new additions (and hopefully get the name of the prog there)

Otherwise, try add/remover programs from the control panel..browse through the list for anything that might be strange..or try removing a prog that you recently installed from the "run" listings (try removing 'em all from run and adding them to the startup one at a time) - that make any sense??
