Heat damage + cooling

I have an AMD athlon 700 mhz slot a processor and at the moment it gets to 35 degrees regularly. If I was to clock it to 1000 how hot would it get and how could I stop it overheating too much. :o please help me im a fish.

How hot it depends on exactly what you need to do to overclock...jacking the voltage increases your heat along with increasing the multiplier and fsb. Get a good HSF, I don't run a slot processor so I can't recommend a good one though i'm sure someone here can. just remember go slow and watch your temps. good luck
