but heres my point i have increased my fsb from 100 to 110 ... now my temp is 36-37 idle and 46-47 top ... i havent increased my core voltage because that wasnt needed (yet) so heres my actual question ... what temp can i go with my duron so i wont f*** him up to fast
thx

Welcome to the forums. There's a wealth of knowlege waiting for you inside.

As for unlocking the L1 bridges, what kind of pencil did you use? I've heard tell that mecanical pencils don't work well, becuase they have plastics in them that cut down on conductivity. There are other ways to unlock the bridges, such as a conductive ink pen, which you can buy from auto parts stores for relatively cheap. Probably the best way to go, as there have been the odd tale of the pencil marks wearing off after time.

As for the language, please try to tone it down. Sure, it's your first time, so we'll cut you some slack. But we try and keep this place as close to PG-13 as we can, for the young 'uns.

Welcome to you!

I hate the "pencil trick" often there is problems with it or it needs to be redone after a while. I recommend the conductive pen or the window defogger repair kit.

Your temps look fine to me. You can usually have around 50C before you have to worry.

Your question is related to AMD processors and may be moved to that area by a moderator.

Happy computing.

thx for responding so fast

Ah. I know the forum automatically censors some words, so I wasn't sure. Censoring yourself is allowed. My bad.

As for the conductive pen tip, do it just like you did with the pencil. But use a rear windshield repair pen instead of a normal pencil. Here's (http://www.overclockers.com/tips442/) one method of doing it.

As for WHAT a conductive pen is:
One many car rear windshields, there are those thin black lines that defrost the window. If those lines are broken, they have to be repaired to work right. Auto parts stores sell pens for this that contain a conductive "ink" or "paint." These are more permanent than pencil, but can still be cleaned off with paint thinner if need be.

ok ... tomorrow i will go to a auto repair shop and ask for that ... the only problem i think is that the pen will be too thick and i wont be able to work with it correctly

There are 2 methods for applying the conductive paint, both are in the tips area of the home page.

One is put a glob of paint on a piece of plastic and dab it onto the processor with a toothpick or straight pin.

the other is to tape off all but one bridge, paint it and let it dry. Then remove the tape and repeat for the next bridge....This takes a while, but gives the best results.

thx for that last thing you told me ... that idea looks better than the other one and more precise ... ill try that ... what tape would i use best ... or can i just use a piece of paper and make a little cut in it and put it over the bridge and paint

It is not my idea, here is the tip:
http://www.overclockers.com/tips475/

I think he used plain clear tape.

As to the paper with holes there is one way to find out if it works.

Applying the paint may be a little tricky. I suggest this method:
By a cheap 10x watchmakers magnifying glass, and use a toothpick and a steady hand for applying the paint. Taking care not to "bridge" between any of the four connections.

Good luck!

the only big problem is that i cant find any conductive material anywhere i searched for it in several shops ... but nothing
... there was this one guy who sold silver paint or someting but that was like 10$ for a small thingie ...
any suggestions?
