I just got 2 tbirds back from rma and they're both 1ghz ARGA stepping. I'm not complaining because they were oem cpu's that AMD was rmaing for me and they didn't have to do squat. However, I was crossing my fingers that they would be at least AXIA's.

Now comes my dilemma, I am in the process of moving so just about all my computer stuff is packed somewhere I can't get to it. All except this laptop. I'm thinking of getting the Tyan MP board and some ddr and making this a server because these chips won't oc and I just need 1 computer besides my G4 to actually get some work done on. Unfortunately that won't be until November when I actually get into my townhouse.

Ok, whats the dilemma? Put them in antistatic bags til you move then buy the board and build the server.

That's a good question. I'm not sure, I was typing my thoughts as they happened and I guess I reasoned out my problem before posting. Sorry about that.

Have you tried a voltage mod yet? I have had a few stubborn 1.2's that wouldn't even make 1.3 stable. Hitting them 2.05v at them worked wonders, both will easily make 1.5 gig stable now. Just make sure your cooling is up to the task first. Water is best.

I checked the CPU database and arga 1ghz made it to around 1100. I could check it out, however my tower is packed away and all my keyboard/crap is in boxes. I have always like SMP setups even though I might not utilize both cpu's.
