I picked up a rheostat at Radio Shack and I'm not sure how to wire it.

My cheap-o rendering of it, looking down on it from the knob side. Where do I connect the 12V line and how do I connect the fan to this apparatus?

Look at the rheostat in this picture. I think it will help you out.

No matter what I do, the fan speed never changes. There are thee ways to connect the wires to the rheostat. I've tried all three, and none of them did anything.

Help!

Here's a link that I think you may find helpful. Complete with plenty of pictures. :)

Just out of curiousity, do you have the fan wired correctly? Make sure the fan molex is wired for 12v and the rheostat is wired to the yellow 12v lead.
