Iwas wondering does increasing the voltage for the DDR chip increases the stabibility when overclocking using the FSB. Also what is the ideal max voltage. If you are wondering i'm running a 1.4(266)athlon on a K7T266 Pro-R mobo with 256mb of mushkin high performance DDR.
Thanks in advance

Yes and 2.7.
Some might say higher but Mushkin may not honor their warranty if you need it.

raise the voltage with caution.
RAM will fry alot faster than a CPU do to overvoltage

Especially DDR. Maybe it's just my system though, but it's a LOT hotter than the SDR in my old PII system. I think it's "smaller" too ... 0.13u? Anyway, the information I've heard concurs with Placid's. The highest "safe" voltage would be 2.7. But again, I don't think anyone has any information on long-term affects of higher voltage for DDR. Due to the smaller fab process, it may deteriorate more quickly, or maybe I'm not making sense because it's 4.

I found that increasing the memory voltage allowed a 165 FSB.
At +0.4 I can get 165 stable, but dropping it down to +0.3 allows stability only up to about 152.

My Crucial DDR PC2100 does get quite hot under these conditions, and so I have ordered Thermaltake ram coolers.

Very nice overclock by the way!!!

Thanks for the help it is running more stable now and just a tad bit faster
