PSU Cause slow boot?

Question, very short. Could my PSU be causing my computer to boot slowly? I am working on getting a larger wattage PSU currently, because mine is already very short on wattage, but could this cause my computer to boot slowly into windows/linux, then be fine after that?

A PSU should have no effect on system boot time. If you are experiencing longer than normal boot times, it is most likely a software problem or a possible problem with your HDD.

I would generally agree with tweaker. Unless there is a problem, or you are running near your PSU's limits, it should not affect your boot time.
I recently worked on a computer with a HDD going bad. Duing the testing I hooked a 90w PSU up to a system normally powered by a 200w PSU and the boot time was noticeably slower. This is an fairly extreme case, but it does illustrate the point.

Could also be certain settings in bios making the pc take more time booting up.

The only time I have ever seen a PSU affect boot times. Is when everything is powering up and since the PSU is so overloaded that drives start to drop off due to being underpowered and everything powering up a once. Sometimes a CD-ROM will disappear sometimes a HDD. Sometimes you get a "can't find ntoskernal BSOD. Other then that, No it will not affect your boot time. LOL

Yea, im sorta thinking that. I didnt see this until AFTER I got it, but the manuf. stated that it recommends a minimal 250w PSU, for CPU, Mobo, and 1 HDD. I am running CPU, Mobo, 4 HDDs, and a DVD Burner. The PSU is 160w. Funny thing though, I got the PSU out of the same system as the mobo and cpu. I am rather underpowered it seems.
