I'm thinking of getting a new video card. the RADEON LE and the GForce2 MX 400.

Correct me if i'm wrong, the RADEON LE 32mb is better than the MX 400 32mb? what's the different between the RADEON LE and RADEON DDR?

The price for the RADEON LE is $62 and the GeForce2 mx 400 with 64mb is at $64. Would the Geforce 2 perform better with it's extra 32mb?

Whinh one should I buy? any better card in the same price range?

The GF2 MX400 OBLITERATES the RADEON LE. Get the GF2 MX400.

The GeForce is cheaper in price because they're INSANELY popular. So many people buy them, that the prices can go very low, without loosing profit.

A Radeon 64MB is far more expensive, and wasn't on the list. He asked about a Radeon LE and a GeForce2 MX400 64MB. Radeon LEs are 32MB, and the LE means CRAP.

I'm not too knowledgeable on the Radeon LE's, but I thought with a few simple hacks you could (in almost all cases) enable Hyper-Z and raise the clocks (synchronously, mind you) to normal or above. I assumed that it was a fairly decent card once those were enabled. And just be careful of the MX's. Check and make sure of the type of RAM and amount. DDR vs. SDR or 64mb vs. 32mb.

That's an excellent choice to tide you over until the GeForce3 Ultras (Or GeForce4's) come out, forcing GeForce3's to go down in price. Go for it. (Make sure it's not a crappy brand though. Stay away from PNY, eVGA and PowerColor. Stick with Asus, Hercules, Elsa, Visiontek and Gainward. Virtually all others aren't built as well, and will crap out sooner.)

with a simple registry hack, and overclocking the radeon le easily whoops the mx and aproaches the gts and is very close to radeon32mb ddr.....check www.anandtech.com....they have a review that provces just this....the le is a much better buy!!!!

You're forgetting that you can overclock the MX400 too. However, I didn't realize the Radeon LE is DDR. It all boils down to RAM. You can either get 64MB SDR, or half that ammount, 32MB DDR. It's up to you, ymNA. Personally, I'd save up a little more and get a GeForce2 GTS 32MB DDR. They're going for $102, Visiontek brand, at www.pricewatch.com.

You guys, read the damn thread. The choices are Radeon LE and GeForce2 MX400. Radeon 64MB DDRs are far more expensive, and are out of the picture for him.

Ijust got rid my savage2000 64mb for 38 bucks, so iam looking at 60 or so for another card, the GTS 64 and Radeon 64ddr are quite a lot for me right now (college student)

LOL, either one of those cards will kick but over that Savage that you just pawned off. My buddy bought the 32 MB ddr Anniahlator and it is a fine card as well and in the price range that you are looking for. That Kyro 4500 is also a great card for the money. Any way that you are looking at, any of the cards that you are looking at will be a definate upgrade over what you were running and I would just do a little reasearch. www.sharkyextreme.com has great evaluations and shootouts of the cards.

Go with ATI RADEON. They are their own company. Not like that NVIDIA who is only a chip on many video card company's products.

I just got a Pny Geforce2 Mx-400 it's 64mb Pci version as I don't have a Agp slot :( but anyway I hope it works goodd Hell of alot better then my Savage4 i will tell you that!

Screw that Pny Pci version I tried 4 boxes and they all had Agp cards in them!!! PNy did not ship the rights ones!!! So I got a Ati 32Mb with Tv out Pci version.
