What chip are using? Thermal grease is bad (especially the cheap stuff) on Durons and TB's. They actually can act as insulators.
32C looks like your system. which is kinda warm (try put in an extra exhaust fan or open your casing).
47C looks like your power supply temp. Not much you can do about this (depends on your power supply unit) or a hot room.
59C looks like your CPU which is WAY too hot unless it's one of those frying pan alternative K6-2's :) Even then it should be around 50 or so.
If you are using a K6-2, try to apply as thin a layer as possible if you are using thermal grease and a good CPU fan. An exhaust fan or opening the case would help cool your system a bit to get some airflow going.

We unfortunately do not know what those temps are for either and if they are at idle or load, if you tell us a little more about your system we may be able to help more regarding tempratures and other suggestions.
Am I also gorrect in assuming the tempratures quoted are in Degree C ?

well after about 10 mins of using aim and surfing the web, my temps are 33 47 65 celcius. i am using an asus a7s-av mobo, i couldn't find any info on it, i believe it's proprietary (sp) to sony, because it used to be a viao. but now i switched the mobo and all the other stuff into a tower. i am using the oem hsf, and the only exhaust in the psu. the weird thing is that my temp in mbm jumps alot like it just went from 67 to 34, and now it's climbing again. now i do understand that i should chop up my case to add more fans but im not exactly sure how to wire them all up, and i know i have to get a hsf, but im not sure where to buy it from. btw it's duron 900, w/ 512 mb pc133, ati all in wonder w/ 16mb and the whole tv deal. i am using a pci slot fan under the vid card to help cool that a little.
thank you much
im reading alot of stuff about lapping could someone please explain the def. says it's just sanding the hs. how to you go about this process?
thanks
