Hey guys, i have a question, there was this realy cool mod for Quake 3 that i now cant find. it was that Mega Rocket Luancher Recoil mod
you would fire the rocket luancher and you would fly backwards at the same speed the rocket flys!
so does anyone remember it?

no sorry dont remember it, but is the rig in your sig what your really forced to be using?, well you can play Q3 eh....if thats really your system then we need to get some kinda donation going to get you something decent man. :beer: i feel for ya up until may i was still using a 700mhz celeron with 64mb of pc133 and a tnt2 8mb...
yeah, that rig in my sig is my only one, sadly i have to make do with what i have.
currently i am out of a job becuase i was homeschooled and thus didnt get a diploma, wich makes it a real PITA to get a job. and a donation would be an incredible thing for me! all i think about is when i can acctualy get a job and get a job. if you guys realy want to, i am cool with it!
oh and i get only about 35fps on my rig with Q3, lol
but to bad you dont remember that mod, it was an insane one! lol

I remember those donated comps we built last christmas. That was sooo cool. Alot of ppl got parts to upgrade their comps when they didnt have the money too. :attn:
Not sure about Q3 but I do remember having many a player just up and leave in Q2 when you would have a health rune and use the rocket launcher to launch yourself with quad damage. The effect was basic, you run, look down, launch yourself and then shoot them in the head on your way down. Upon landing you had maybe ten health left however the enemy was dead and the health rune brought you back up to a good health status once again.
I only knew of a few that could do this move and only ever saw and perfrormed this on Zool's Place and Halquake. Those that could I beleive were Parasite, Zool, myself aka ITIZME amd maybe a couple of others.

G.E.D. = Good Enough Degree. It's a shame about the home schooling man. This happened to someone i know, and he's in the same boat just because his parents didnt like the publice school system.
yeah i know what you mean. Its a real pain in the arse. but i continue to keep appling to jobs and hoping for the best

I think i found the mod. so i install it. IT FUBARS MY WHOLE INSTALLATION!!! argh. one thing leads to another. first that damn virus that beat the crap out of me this past week. and now this. WTF??? am i a magnet to bad luck???

Please elaborate. What exactly happened to your installation? Did you creat a restore point before installing it?

that install was before i installed XP, so it was on old crappy 98SE. i reformated and installed XP PRO

That might have helped the game get all messed up. Find your saved game files, if thats what you need, and then reinstall the game. Is there some other reason why you do not want to reinstall the game?

The video card 'sucking' would not affect the reinstallation of the game. I have never heard of that happening. Just make sure you have updated drivers.

what i meant. is that there is no problem with installing, but once its installed, it wont run or i get it to run, but i wont load any levels

I thought you meant that installing the mod is what messed up the Quake 3 installation. You mean installing windows? I am confused.

lol ok let me walk this all out
When i installed the mod, it fubared my installation of Q3. so i unistalled it. then reinstalled it. no luck. still cant get it to run most of the time, maybe once every blue moon.
then last saturday i installed XP pro with SP1. and i installed Q3 still no luck

Are you getting any error messages? Anything like that? What happens, it just doesn't open?

I turned off all the error messages
what happens is that it starts, then goes black for about 30-60secs
then all these little red lines up

Yea, it sounds like that card of yours is acting up. Quake 3 may just be too much for it.

In Texas, every application only has "HS Diploma or equivalent" you don't have to specify your GED or not...

A lot of employers here in Utah only have Diploma/GED as one choice as well. Just don't put it on your resume. As far as any employer is concerned, all they need to know is if you've "graduated". I don't believe they can even verify if you have graduated or not. Just don't give them reason to believe otherwise.
