Alright so I have two monitors hooked up to my gf fx 5950 with the vga adapter... All I can get is my desktop on the main monitor, and just my background picture on the 2nd monitor... Is there anyway I could get two desktops at the same time, and just switch back and forth or do I need to get a PCI videocard to do this?

go to the nview display settings, and change the nView display mode and set it to your liking

I'm not sure I understand your question correctly, but there are several options for dual monitor configurations using nVidia's drivers. Use the nView Desktop Manager wizard to setup your dual config the way you want it.

I've tried that, and set it to dual monitors, but still all I get is a background on my 2nd monitor where I can only drag screens over... Is it because of my 53.03 drivers?

Don't know, but you could always try using the 61.77 drivers. I know for sure that that option is there, atleast for the GF6 series cards. Not in front of my home computer right now, but in the nView wizard I believe the option was to span the monitors that would treat both monitors as one big monitor. Will look it up when I get back from work.

Yeah I have that same option on my drivers, and make sure it's unchecked, but it still makes me span across the monitors...

What exactly are you trying to do here? Do you want to span your taskbar across both monitors and have it so you can place icons on the second monitor, setup a regular dual monitor setup where your desktop is on your primary and all you can do is place windows and apps on the second monitor, or have both monitors display the same thing.
You can set this up however you want using the display wizard in the nview control panel.

I want to set it up where I have two desktops, taskbars, icons so it's like I'm running 2 computers on one...
I can get mine working on span mode but there's no option for dualview in display mode list even though the wizard gave me an option of dualview. If I go through the wizard, no signal goes to my secondary monitor. Btw, the option you are talking about is dualview. Hope someone can figure his/my problem.

So there is no way of having two seperate desktops running on 2 different monitors? I could have sworn I heard this was possible many times...
I finally got my dualview to work. I can play warcraft on one screen and my AIM would be on the other monitor. However, input still goes to main monitor like mouse and keyboard and such unless you alt-tab out to desktop but I can see who messaged me and what was the message while playing games.
