This is my first post as am new to this board, though I have read through it many times.
After a long awaited time I finally upgraded from a Geforce 5200 FX 128 ddr to the Sapphire 9600 XT 256.
The card will be arriving in the next couple days, now how comparable is the 9600 to the Geforce 5600 FX 256? or does the 9600 XT compare better to the 5700 series cards.
I decided to skip an Nvidia card this time, this will be my first because I think they are more popular and have better OC'ING qualities.
It's like comparing an American sedan to a Foreign, (Honda,Toyota) sedan, I will take the Jap car, I think it is better quality and will last longer.
Now, did I just make a big mistake in buying the 9600? Because what I have read so far if I would have spent $50 US - $100 US more I could have gotten a card with 8 pipelines, like the 9800 series, plus you cant soft mod these cards.
How do they respond on OC'ing? I am wondering now did I just spend $145 on this new card for a 25% upgrade over what I got, any thoughts on that?
Thanks alot...
